touchStarted launches on Friday 7th of February at 6pm. It features the largest paintings I’ve ever made and the latest development my Attention Machines.
touchStarted refers to a line of code that triggers an app to record user's activity on their phone or tablet. Usually deployed for functional design, technology's tendency to record and read us is increasingly double-edged. It allows us frictionless online mobility but leaves our traces as a 'digital fingerprint', that lingers both digitally on the cloud and as greasy residue on our screens. touchStarted comprises paintings, drawings and monotypes that display the nonchalance of mark-making we perform for our luminous and colourful interfaces as we're seduced into digital corporate playgrounds.
